We are glad you made it here. ICCF is a Christ-centered family that seeks God and worships Him through music, Bible study, prayer, and fellowship. We aim to serve the Chinese population at the university by introducing them to biblical truth and creating a genuine and caring environment.
The purposes of the Illini Chinese Christian Fellowship are:
We believe that:
The Bible is the only divinely inspired Word of God, that it is entirely trustworthy, and that it was given in its entirety as the Holy Spirit guided the sacred writers so that the words they wrote constitute the Word of God. It is, therefore, the final authoritative guide for faith and practice. Psalm 119; Matthew 7:24; 2 Timothy 3:14-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21
There is but One only, the living and true God. The Godhead eternally exists in three persons—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit—and that these three are one God, with the same nature, attributes, and perfection; worthy of the same homage, confidence, and obedience. Deuteronomy 6:4; Jeremiah 10:10; Matthew 28:19-20; Luke 3:22; Ephesians 3:14-19; John 14:6-17; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Colossians 1:13-20; Hebrews 1:1-3
God the Son was and is Jesus Christ, was sent by God the Father, was virgin-born and sinless, was crucified as the atoning sacrifice for the sins of all people of all ages, died on the cross, was buried, and arose from the dead on the third day, and shall come again to this earth, according to the Holy Scriptures. Matthew 1:8-25; Acts 3:13-16; 1 Corinthians 15:3-6; Revelation 22:12-21
All people are sinners in need of the Savior, Jesus Christ, and that they can experience salvation only by grace through faith in Him. Psalm 14; John 3:3-8; Isaiah 64:6-7; Romans 10:9-17; Ephesians 5:8-9
God the Holy Spirit regenerates people in new spiritual birth as they trust Christ as Savior and Lord, and by His abiding presence and power equips them for spiritual life and service. Joel 2:28-29; Mark 1:4-8; John 3:3-8; 1 Corinthians 12:1-27
Baptism is a sacrament, wherein the washing with water in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, does signify and seal our ingrafting into Christ, and partaking of the benefits of the covenant of grace, and our engagement to be the Lord’s. Baptism is administered to those who profess their faith in Christ, and obedience to him. Matthew 26:26-2, 28:19; Romans 6:4; Ephesians 4:4-6; Galatians 3:27
All believers are called to be priests and ambassadors for Christ to fulfill the Lord’s Great commission at wherever they are guided by God to be. Matthew 28:18-20; 2 Corinthians 5:17-21; 1 Peter 2:5-10
There will be a bodily resurrection of the believer to everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord; and of the unbeliever to condemnation and everlasting punishment. John 3:16-17; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 20:11-21:8
We meet regularly as a large group, and as three language groups: Mandarin, Cantonese, and English. ICCF strives to be a place where students can share life together and spread the good news about our Lord Jesus Christ.
Dan Zhang - ICCF President
Hi there! My name is Dan Zhang. I’m a second-year Master student in English (Yes, I can help you with your paper, but that’s not the point here. ;p). I got connected to ICCF through Quad Day last year, started going to the weekly meeting on Friday nights, and never left. Initially, what draws me into ICCF was the opportunity to stay in touch with the same group of people on a weekly basis. Gradually, the spiritual conversations and close interactions with some members made ICCF more like home for me. Friday nights became special and refreshing even after a tiresome week. In this new school year, as the President, I’m very excited to work with other members on the committee to make ICCF a home for you! Through our Bible studies and other events, I hope that you will encounter the LORD and find the group of people that will walk with you in this journey of spiritual discovery. It is my prayer that ICCFers will be good witnesses to the LORD on this campus and that ICCF will be a bridge that brings you to where the LORD leads you.
Yanling Wang - Mandarin Group Vice-President
Hi! I am Yanling, a PhD student who studies broccoli and has broccoli on a daily basis. ICCF is the big family where my journey with God get started and where I baptized. Serving as the President in Mandarin group, my job is keeping the sheep in Mandarin group on the right track in God’s kingdom. My vision in the coming school year is to unite the Mandarin group as a better family for everyone.
Elijah Chen - English Group Vice-President
Hi! I’m Elijah, the English group VP. I first heard about ICCF through my friend who also went to ICCF. Beside serving as the VP for English group, I am also involved in Worship Team. As a VP, I keep in touch with each of my fellow brothers and sisters in English Group and I also lead Bible studies on Fridays. On Worship Team, I help out with worship on Fridays by either playing the violin or singing. If you are an English speaker, consider joining ICCF’s English Group! Come and be part of a group of a people that loves the Lord and loves each other! My prayer for ICCF is that we grow in our love for God and our love for each other while bringing new people towards God.
Edmond Lai - Cantonese Group Vice-President
I am Ed! I am a Master student studying Geographic Information Science. I got my Bachelor's Degree right here at the University of Illinois and that's when I first started attending ICCF. I was invited to Taste of ICCF (awesome activities!) around 8 years ago (long time I know) and the rest is history. I became a Christian right here at ICCF and having been serving at different capacitiy at my home Church in Chicago such as worship leader and small group leader. As the Vice President for the Cantonese Group, my hope is that all our members will be able to grow closer to each other and to God. This coming year, I hope we will have more time to share about our lives together and food together :)
Zhen (Caroline) Zhen - Bible Study Coordinator
Hi everyone! My name is Zhen (Coraline) Tao, from mandarin group. I was first invited to ICCF by Lucy Liu, whom graduated in May 2017 (sad face). During this past year, God has been constantly showing me his love, grace and sovereignty though various challenges and changes in life. I was blessed to have brothers and sisters at ICCF to go through these together. Serving as one of the Bible Study Coordinator, I meet with Pastor Mike and the other Bible study coordinator, Pengfei Li, to prepare for the content of Bible studies every week. Pengfei and I rotate leading pre-studies for the Bible leaders in all language groups. In this new semester, I am excited to see God bring to ICCF more people who are open and eager to know about Him. I pray that you will meet Jesus and become more like Him in this community.
Pengfei Li - Bible Study Coordinator
Hello everyone, my name is Pengfei Li. I became a Christian in Lansing Chinese Christian Church in 2014. I came to University of Illinois and joined in ICCF in 2016. Here is a place where I have learned more about God and enjoyed awesome fellowship with wonderful friends. Now I am serving as one of the Bible Study coordinators in ICCF. I am benefited from this job since it makes me learn more about God’s Words and gives me a chance to use my ability to serve others. I wish ICCF could be a spiritual family to the coming Christians and blessings to friends who come to pursue Truth and Love. Welcome to the corn field! May God bless your life, study and research!
Thomas Liu - Worship Team Leader
Helloooo everyone! My name is Thomas. I am a junior in System Engineering and Design. I found ICCF through the Internet when browsing around for a Chinese fellowship prior to coming here. Since then, I have stayed in the ICCF family and been surround with all the love and care from the brothers and sisters. During the past two years, I have served as a vocal in the worship team and I will continue as a worship leader this year. Many people may think that worship is only about the musical part; in fact, worship covers the entire service in the church. In this new school year, I hope more people will hear the gospel and become our brothers and sisters as well. Let's worship together!
Jason Lee - Treasurer
Hello! My name is Jason. I got involved in ICCF during my freshman year where I struggled to make friends. A friend of a friend who knew I was Christian took me to ICCF. Even though I was a Christian growing up, I never went to a fellowship before. ICCF quickly became a home to me. I started serving in the worship team as the person who makes and clicks through the PowerPoint slides. Later, I also served as sound technician. For the last year and a bit, I was honored to serve as treasurer of ICCF. In the coming year, I pray that God will continue to bring new brothers and sisters, and prepare them for God's work. More importantly, I pray that ICCF will stay on the path that God prepared for and that brothers and sisters will continue to have faith. Finally, I want to give you guys a WARM welcome! ICCF is a place where you can be closer to God and grow in God, which is why I continue to go to this fellowship even 2 years after graduation. I hope that will stay true to you as well.

While ICCF is not directly affiliated with any of the churches in the Champaign-Urbana area, our brothers and sisters attend several different churches in the area. Here's a short list:
傳揚福音: 傳福音給數以千計在香檳的華人，並支持宣教士將福音傳到地極 (徒1:8)
Evangelism: to share the gospel to the Chinese in Champaign-Urbana and to support missionaries to spread the gospel to the end of the world (Acts 1:8).
敬拜讚美: 榮耀神，經歷神的同在，敬聽並回應神的話 (西3:16，弗 5:16-19)
Worship: to praise God for who He is, to experience His presence, to listen and respond to His word (Col. 3:16; Eph. 5:16-19).
團契關懷: 吸納信徒到教會大家庭裡的團契，讓他們在當中得到愛，接納，盼望，寬恕，引導和鼓勵 (來10:24-25)
Fellowship: to assimilate believers into our church family’s fellowships so that they will experience love, acceptance, hope, forgiveness, counsel, and encouragement (Heb. 10:24-25).
Discipleship: to build up believers to conform to the image of Christ through Sunday school, Bible study, small groups, and discipleship training (Mt. 28:18-20; Eph. 4:12-13).
Ministry: to help believers to discover their God-given gifts and talents and to equip them to serve in various ministries (1 Peter 4:10).
Our mission: To be a Christ-centered church where community and campus come together to make a difference for God’s Kingdom throughout the world.
As we pursue this mission, we are driven by these Core Values:
God desires to grow disciples of Christ who are thoughtfully and compassionately engaging our needy world with the gospel. Because we minister in a transient, university community, God has given us the opportunity to serve the worldwide Church as an equipping and sending station. We want to invest in the development of people who are part of TCBC even for just a few years and then send them on to what God has for them next. We also believe God calls all of us to live daily as “sent ones”—effective and intentional ambassadors for Christ in our spheres of influence.
Our vision is to be a life-changing community of authentic believers, passionately pursuing Christ, unshakably committed to His Word, thoroughly equipped to serve, contagiously influencing our world for Him.
